Best time to visit Algarve?

Due to it being one of European's hottest, sunniest places, the best time to come is for your summer holiday. The hottest weather is between June and September and the busiest months are July and August. Winter can be wonderful in these months with crisp blue skies and stunning coastal walks.

How to get to Algarve?

The easiest way to get there from the UK is to fly directly to Faro Airport. Faro is the capital of Algarve and the airport lies two and a half miles from Faro. Low-cost airlines such as EasyJet and Ryanair fly regularly to Faro as well as jet2 and British Airways. If you are travelling from one of the popular holiday rentals in Lisbon then you can hop aboard one of two daily trains for around 3 hours, before arriving in Portugals southern paradise.

Getting Around

Best Beaches in Algarve

Praia da Marinha

This beach is located on the south coast of Algarve. Surrounded by limestone rocks which have eroded into interesting and exquisite patterns as well as boasting an orangy-brown colour making them perfect for photoshoots!

Praia da Falesia

This is a long beach of 10km based in the east of Albufeira. The car park is based at the top of the cliff where you have a wonderful view of the coastline. The beach is found by following a footpath down where you will find the long strip of beach.

Praia de Odeceixe

This beach is one of the region's most popular due to its positioning next to the river. This makes it a good option for families as the children can safely paddle in the river side of the strand. For a challenge there are bigger waves on the ocean side. You can find a surf school here as well as the village of Odeceixe.

Meia Praia

For more of a party atmosphere, come and chill on the Meia Praia beach by the party town of Lagos. It stretches for 4km and fills up with plenty of people on hot days. It is lined with several bars, beach clubs and delicious restaurants.
